APPLEMEND — THE ASSESSMENT
Specialist assessment, done properly.

Adult ADHD

assessment, considered

A comprehensive, consultant-led assessment for adults who want a clear, considered answer — not a form, a queue, and a label.

WHO IT IS FOR
i.

For adults who have been wondering for too long.

The assessment is for adults aged 18 and over who suspect that ADHD may explain difficulties they have carried for years — with concentration, organisation, starting, finishing, or simply keeping up with the administration of life.

Many of the people we arrange assessments for are professionals, executives, academics and students — capable people whose strategies for coping have quietly stopped being enough. You do not need a referral, and you do not need to be certain. Uncertainty is precisely what an assessment is for.

Assessment
Conducted online, across the UK.
ii.

What the assessment involves.

At its heart is an extended, structured clinical interview with a GMC-registered consultant psychiatrist — a real conversation, not a screening call. Before it, you will complete background questionnaires so the time with your psychiatrist is spent understanding you, not gathering basics.

Appointments are conducted online, so there is no travel and no waiting room — and they are typically available within one week, subject to clinician availability.

WHAT WE CONSIDER
iii.

Five things a checklist cannot weigh.

01

Your history

ADHD is a lifelong pattern, so the assessment looks back as well as around — childhood, schooling, and the shape of your working life.

02

Your present functioning

How attention, organisation, restlessness and follow-through actually show up in your days — at work, at home, and under pressure.

03

Validated measures

Recognised clinical questionnaires and structured tools, used to inform the conversation rather than replace it.

04

Collateral perspective

Where appropriate, and only with your consent, the view of someone who has known you well — a partner, parent or sibling.

05

The wider picture

Anxiety, depression, OCD, stress and burnout can all resemble or accompany ADHD. A careful assessment weighs them honestly.

iv.

A conclusion you can rely on.

Whatever the conclusion, you receive a clear written report and the time to have it explained properly — what it means, what it does not mean, and what your options are from here.

With your consent, the report can be shared with your GP, and it may support applications for workplace or university adjustments.

An honest boundary

What AppleMend does not do

Our focus is assessment and diagnosis. AppleMend does not currently arrange medication initiation, titration or ongoing psychiatric treatment, and does not itself provide medical care — every clinical assessment is conducted by an independent GMC-registered consultant psychiatrist. If your assessment points towards treatment, your psychiatrist will explain the routes available to you.

Ready when you are.

A clear answer,

properly explained.
